Holly Mandelkern, long-time friend of the Center and local author, released her first book, Beneath White Stars: Holocaust Profiles in Poetry, on Sunday, May 21 2017.
The launch included an introduction from the Center’s resource educator, Mitch Bloomer, as well as a performance by Lake Nona High School chorus. Other speakers included Holocaust survivor Helen Greenspun and her granddaughter Toni Turoci; Byron Fulwider and Reverend Danielle Morris from the Interfaith Council; Al Rocheleau from the Florida State Poets Association; and Byron Marshall, who provided illustrations for the book.
