Led by the teens of SKAI (Sagacious Kids Aiming to Inspire), this workshop will empower students with the tools to write creatively.

The foundation for making your voice heard on the causes most important to you begins with our ability to use words knowledgeably and powerfully.  The program will inspire you on the power of words;  equip you with tools to write more powerfully and persuasively, and have you leave prepared to affect change on causes that touch your heart!

SKAI operates on a T-2-T concept…or Teens teaching Teens! The class is structured to be interactive where participants learn and share knowledge with each other. It is not a traditional adult teacher-to-student format.

Highlights and key program take-aways:

  • Writing is more than just words on a page. Journaling is more than venting your frustrations. It is the basis for change.
  • When you visually organize your thoughts, you can be a better activist.
  • Our ability to transform our world depends on our ability to use words – they structure action.
  • Writing and journaling allows for the exploratory safe space to determine your identity, examine the tensions you experience in the world, and come to a series of conclusions of who you want to be and what you want to do to change it.

The time we live in today requires bold knowledge and action. And it starts with creating the right base.

Write for change.

Note for parents: if you would like to stay while your teen is attending the workshop, docent led tour of the museum will be available and you are welcome to experience our exhibit Behind The Bookcase.
