Join us for a captivating and inspiring event at the Holocaust Center on November 30th at 1:30 PM, as we present the remarkable life story of Allan Hall, a survivor who defied the odds and went on to achieve incredible success. Allan’s journey from the harrowing times of World War II to becoming an accomplished lawyer and educator is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
In this special event, we will have the privilege of introducing Allan Hall, born in Cracow, Poland, in 1935. His early years were filled with joy and comfort within a middle-class family. However, the onset of World War II in 1939 dramatically altered the course of his life. When the Nazis attacked Poland, Allan’s family was forced to evacuate to Lvov, his father’s hometown, in the Soviet-occupied part of Poland.
With the Nazi occupation of Lvov in 1941, Allan and his family were pushed into hiding. For two years, they concealed themselves in a Nazi headquarters building in Warsaw, Poland. It was amidst the chaos and danger that Allan’s younger brother, Andrew, was born in a coal bin in a bomb shelter during an intense bombardment.
In February 1945, the family was finally liberated by the Soviets. Allan’s father was sent to Siberia, and Allan, with his twenty-month-old brother on his back, embarked
on a journey to walk to Palestine. Miraculously, their parents reunited with them in Austria, and in 1947, the family made their way to the USA, despite having been there illegally.
Allan’s story is one of resilience, determination, and the pursuit of excellence against all odds. Join us for this extraordinary event to hear his remarkable journey in person, and to be inspired by a life that overcame adversity to achieve great success.
