Organization:   The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida, located in the Greater Orlando area, is dedicated to preserving the memory of those who perished in the Holocaust and to educating the larger community against the dangers of racism, prejudice and intolerance.  Our largest constituency is the public school system, as we are appointed by the State of Florida to fulfill its Holocaust Education Mandate of 1994.

Mission: To teach the history and lessons of the Holocaust in order to build a just, caring and inclusive community free of anti-Semitism and all other forms of racism and bigotry.

Job Description:  The Executive Director will oversee programming and operations, enabling the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center to serve as the community’s primary resource in areas of tolerance, multiculturalism and interfaith dialogue.  With responsibility for the administration of the Center and the Museum, the Director will work closely with volunteer leadership to build partnerships with other communal organizations and to do outreach to a variety of educational, cultural, business and civic institutions.
The successful candidate should possess:

• a post-graduate degree in a relevant field of study
• several years management experience in a not for profit institution
• experience with budgets, grants, fundraising, strategic planning, operations, programming and education
• experience working with volunteers of all ages
• outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• the ability to work in a collaborative environment, and
• the ability to manage change and growth
