Helen Greenspun has given a great gift to Central Florida’s children by sharing her story as a Holocaust Survivor. Almost every week during the school year she has been invited to a class or has been asked to do a presentation at the Center. Over the past 30 years, thousands of local students have heard her story. She provided them with more than an eyewitness account of history; she has given them a human face and voice that helps them better understand the enormous losses of the Shoah.
Her story, which she tells with grace and dignity, is a painful reminder of the human cost of the Holocaust. It’s hard to grasp the enormity of the murder of six million people. It becomes real with Helen’s poignant, personal account of unimaginable injustice. It has not come easily. Her willingness to share her story so many times, in spite of the personal pain and sacrifice required to do so, reflects her rare courage and a generosity of spirit.
She has recently announced her retirement as volunteer speaker, but remains active as a member of the Holocaust Center’s Emeritus Board and as an ongoing supporter of the Center and its work.
Reservations are now being accepted here. Be sure to look at our exciting auction list!
