    Events: America and the Holocaust

FORUM America’s Response to the Holocaust presented by Ian Gold. For many Americans “the war” began with the bombing of Pearl Harbor and had little to do with the massacre of Jews in Europe. Yet folklore allows us to believe that America acted quickly and decisively to defeat the Nazis and liberate their captives. What was America’s real role in helping or delaying justice for Holocaust victims? In retrospect, what were the decisions that made, or would have made, a difference in the outcomes?
